Did you blame it on the Rider? Am I going to have to hack Cadelle's dispatch computers on the regular so you don't get a reputation? Ooh, you should so go on Hell's Kitchen.
( Daisy, no.
But, she has to be serious for a moment. )
I think we should talk. ( Which is a lot more awkward and excruciating, but she wants to make sure they're on the right page now. ) I like you. I mean, I'm pretty sure you know that. But I like like you too. ( God, why does this feel like high school? ) I think you like me too. And I know we've both kind of got our own issues and shit that could make this difficult - ( Lifting her hand to wave it between the pair of them. ) But I just ... ( With a frustrated exhale. ) I kind of want to give it a chance. So I guess what I need to know is if you do too?
[there's something soothing about seeing her nose crinkle and her face shift as if this were just any regular old day in the life and times of daisy johnson. it eases some of the tension developing in his shoulders and he feels calmer if for only a moment while she playfully suggests that he join that gordon ramsay shouting fest that is known as hells' kitchen. he shakes his head in the negative, barely containing the urge to jab her in the arm.]
Yeah no. I'm pretty sure the whole building knows the burnt popcorn and other food item smells are from me.
[and there's a smile there too, even as she takes a breath and steers them toward a more important conversation, one that they've only toyed with thus far, one that feels important. one that he's not sure he's ready for but will have all the same. robbie grabs a hold of her hand from midair, fingers lacing between hers, and gives it a squeeze.]
Yeah. [he says at first as if he one word response is going to be enough. it's true though. he does like her. and more importantly than that, he does want to know where this will lead and he wants to give them a chance in this place where neither is plagued by what they have to do on a regular basis.] I'm — yeah. I like you too.
That's — you should probably know that already. And yeah, I'd like to give us a shot.
( He's laconic, but strangely enough Daisy likes that about him. She's always been too much, too loud, too obvious, trying to fill the empty spaces in her life with words and actions. Robbie isn't like that, and usually that would put her on the defensive, but with him she feels comfortable enough to ramble without aim or purpose. He'd tell her, if he needed her to be quiet.
And he says he'd like to try. Daisy's whole expression shifts, loses it's worried edges and it's frown to turn into something bright and beaming. She's not felt quite so relieved in a long time. ( She's not thought about kissing something as much as she's thought about kissing him in a long time too. )
Good. ( Which is a little ridiculous, but still. She has to keep herself on track. ) I mean, we knew what this place was asking for when we signed up, right? ( Intimacy with relative strangers, apparently. But she knew Robbie, which led to a whole load of conflicting issues. ) And I'm not going to make it weird. We've both got things we need to achieve here. But I'd kind of like to date you? Maybe? And kiss you, obviously. Like, a lot of kissing. I'm pretty sure I wanted to kiss you before too. Somewhere between the fighting and all.
( She pauses, bites her lip, shaking her head a little at her own strangeness. )
